Cursor Setup Guide

Connect Gety to Cursor as an MCP so the AI in Cursor can answer using your local files. Follow the steps below to get started.

Before you begin, make sure Gety is running in the background.

For the best search and answer quality, Let Gety finish indexing (including the semantic index) first.

I. Enable MCP in Gety

  1. Open Gety -> Settings -> AI Integrations, choose MCP

  2. Enter a memorable name in the dialog (e.g., Cursor)

  1. Create the integration and copy the generated JSON config for later use

II. Add Gety in Cursor

  1. Open Cursor -> Settings -> Tools & Integrations, click Add Custom MCP

  1. Paste the JSON you copied and save it as mcp.json

III. Start using it

  1. In Cursor, create a New Chat

  2. Open mcp.json, copy all its content, and paste it into the chat

  3. When the MCP prompt or tool panel appears as shown, the connection is successful and you can start asking questions

AI Integration gives you the benefits of AI powered by your own files — always under your control. Every time content is shared, whether it’s a short snippet or a longer section, a confirmation pop-up lets you review it first.

With that trust in place, your AI becomes sharper, more relevant, and better at tackling real work.

This is the future we believe in: AI that truly understands you, powered by your own data.
